In 2005 more than 156 mln. tourists visited this region which is 7% more than in 2004. Liberalization of visa procedures and simplification of formalities in the sphere of air transportation, active market penetration of budget airlines became the best incentive for the tourist flow increase in a number of Asian countries. As experts consider the reached by India success in the development of inbound tourism in recent years was equally caused as by the successful advertising campaign of «Incredible India», so by the policy of «open sky». In Japan in connection with a new program of visa-free travel for a part of tourists, an increase in tourist flow by 30% from Hong Kong was achieved and by 20% - from Thailand, «Expert» reports. China receives an increasing quantity of tourists. According to the data of international financial company VISA just this year the country can become the second largest tourist market in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR). In the beginning of 2005 China was the third after Australia and Thailand object of tourist activity in APR for the users of VISA cards. In the second half of the year of 2005 China already surpassed Thailand in the volume of expenditures of foreign tourists. Shanghai became the most popular city in China. The heads of national tourist administrations of the Asian countries call incorrect world media coverage of crisis situations one of the basic problems influencing the tourist branch, UzReport reports.
