The first train with 900 passengers left for the Tibet from Peking. The train speed is approximately 120 km/h. Railroad construction cost $4,2 billion. One-way ticket costs from 50 to 160 dollars. The train shall arrive in the capital of Tibet Lhasa on Monday. Peking states that the highest point of train passing is the level of 5072 meters.
