The first Russian low-cost airline will take off from «Vnukovo»
Russia's first airline for the large user Sky Express is planning flights execution in December 2006 from «Vnukovo» airport. The airline managing director Marina Bukalova reported on this. She told that at present Sky Express is undergoing certification, precise date of the beginning of flights will be determined on its completion. Airline is ready to make flights from «Vnukovo» airport and in the first days of December it is planning to start reservation of tickets on its site. The first trips of Sky Express will become flights to Saint Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Murmansk, Chelyabinsk, Tyumen, Volgograd. In spring-summer period the company is planning to fly in traditional «health resort» directions - Anapa, Sochi, Mineralnye Vody. It is expected that by the end of 2007 the route network of Sky Express will comprise more than 20 internal directions into the cities located at a distance of 800-3000 km from Moscow. Sky Express airline was founded in March 2006. Special features of the carrier’s business model are rational construction of route network, uniform park of aircrafts, mainly straight sales of tickets and also absence of free meals aboard traditionally included in ticket cost. By the end of 2007 Sky Express will have 18 Boeing-737. It is planned that by the end of 2008 air traffic performance will make about 3,5 mln. passengers. www.ratanews.ru
